• Description
  Art historian Zsuzsa Bánóczi (1954–2005) studied history and folk culture at the Kossuth Lajos University in Debrecen, and later majored in art history at Eötvös Loránd University. Librarian at and exhibition organiser for Fészek Művészklub (“Fészek Artists’ Club”) between 1982–1993. Later became an associate of the Research Institute for Art History, and the head of the Photographic Archive at the same from 1994. Her main areas of research were the history of artist associations in Hungary (e.g., Nemzeti Szalon “National Salon,” Symposion Társaság “Symposion Association”) and 20th–century public sculpture (e.g., Tibor Vilt). The fonds contains the material Zsuzsa Bánóczi had collected on artist associations, along with her manuscripts and research reports.
