- Description
Béla Horváth (1930–1995) received his diploma in art history and museology in Budapest. He wrote his thesis on Károly Kernstok, who (along with the Nyolcak, a group of eight Hungarian avant-garde artists that Kernstok had been a part of) remained in the focus of his interest as he began his career. The majority of the fonds is also comprised of documents related to Kernstok. However, Horváth’s attention also spanned the artists connected to Kernstok. His literary interests led him to research Dezső Czigány’s portraits of Hungarian poet Endre Ady in great depth.
