- Description
Olivér Árpád István Botár is a Canadian art historian of Hungarian descent. Born in Toronto in 1957, he is currently a professor at the University of Manitoba School of Art (Winnipeg, Canada). His area of research is 20th-century Central European Modernism.
The fonds contains a section of Botár’s works – his writings on László Moholy-Nagy, mostly, as well as invitations for and catalogues of exhibitions he organised in Hungary and in America. A great number of photos are also included in the fonds, mostly on the topics of avant-garde art between the two World Wars in Hungary and abroad, and Dadaism in Hungary.
