- Description
Art historian Ottó Mezei (1925–2004) received his teacher’s diploma in 1952, and started working as such right away. He obtained a diploma in Art history in 1971, and a doctoral degree in 1975. Held lectures at the Hungarian College of Arts and Crafts between 1968–1974, then worked as a senior research associate of the Contemporary Hungarian Collection of the Hungarian National Gallery between 1975–1979. Senior associate of the Art, then the Visual Department of the Institute for People’s Education from 1979 until his retirement in 1986. His area of research was Hungarian and European art in the 20th century.
The pre-organized material of the fonds is related to Ottó Mezei’s researches and their topics. It contains exhibition and other invitations, photos, manuscripts on miscellaneous topics, exhibition opening speeches, articles, reviews, critiques, material collected for research, prints, photocopies of writings and studies by others, offprints and letters.
