  • Description
Sándor Altorjai (1933–1979) was one of the most original and definitive personalities of Hungarian neo-avant-garde. A part of his written bequest was donated to the Archive after the Institute contributed to the research being done in preparation for Altorjai’s retrospective exhibition in 2003.
The material contains notes, fragments on painting techniques and art theory, confessions, attempts at poems, unfinished dramas, persiflages, satires, an article from Szétfolyóirat that had been sent to him, texts he’d written for his catalogue (1971), his autobiography (1957), postcards he’d sent to his mother and letters he’d sent to his friends, as well as official correspondence and documents.
