• Description
  The fonds contains material collected from the most significant Hungarian horticultural journals from the era 1857–1944, on the topic of historical gardens. In 1997, the Institute of Art History published Kertművészet a régi magyar kertészeti folyóiratokban 1857–1944. Repertórium. (Garden art in old Hungarian horticultural journals 1857–1944. A repertory. Compiled by Gábor Alföldy and Dóra Zolnai. Editing and foreword by Géza Galavics), which gives us a repertory-like overview, organised by journal and volume, of illustrated articles on – or at least related to – the topic of garden art and historical gardens. The authors reviewed the archives of 27 old Hungarian horticultural journals, chose the five most significant ones, and photocopied their articles on historical gardens. It is these copies that the fonds consists of.
