  • Description
Ibolya Ury (Mrs. Endre Ury, née Ibolya Erdey, 1924–2009) received her diploma from the Department of Art History at the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University in 1967. Between 1957–1967, she worked for the Hungarian Association of Photographic Artists. From 1967 to 1984, she was a senior research associate of the Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle) in Budapest, going on to be a senior associate of Generalart between 1984–1987. Her main interest was contemporary art, having organized exhibitions – both in Budapest and the countryside – for numerous well-known visual and photographic artists, including Endre Bálint, Lili Ország, Júlia Vajda, Margit Anna, Ernő Fischer, Róbert Horling, István Mácsai, László Drégely and Ervin Tamás. Several of these artists were also her friends. Her writings appeared in catalogues and professional and informative journals; the most significant were her volumes on János Kmetty and Margit Gráber, and on Emil Gádor, István Mácsai and László Drégely.
