Art historian Lilla Hensz(e)lmann (Mrs. Lajos Végvári, then later Mrs. Géza Csorba, 1921–2008) worked as a museologist of the Sculptures’ Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest between 1952–1955, then became the curator of the Collection of Medieval Seal Replicas at the Documentation Center for Art History at HAS (1958–1969). From 1969 to 1981, she was a research associate of the Research Group for Art History at HAS, as well as head of the Collection of Medieval Seal Replicas. She initially researched the sculptures of Hungarian artists János Fadrusz (1858–1903) and Alajos Stróbl (1856–1926), but later focused on medieval seals from before the battle of Mohács (1526), as well as on compiling the corpus of 14–16th century sepulchral monuments in Hungary.
One half of the fonds is comprised of books and journals related to Lilla Henszlmann’s research topics – mainly medieval art, sculpture and source publications–, while the other half is made up of the material of her research itself. Prints, invitations, programmes, official correspondence on various topics, HAS reports, official documents, work reports, trip reports, contracts, work-related documents, records of transfer, along with personal documents and a biography.
